Tonight Pishi and I went to Ramin Jahanbegloo's talk at U of T. It was great to see him back. His speech had a lot of food for thought. What moved me was his sense of peace. Despite his solitary confinement, his soul was still noble. One of his sentences that moved me was: I am not working for present Iran, I am working toward future Iran.
It was nice to see friends that I haven't seen for a long time. Seeing them took me back to 6-7 years ago when we would sit together in his philosophy classes and listen to him. At times it was boring to me, but nevertheless, I learned valuable lessons in those gatherings and classes that if not, I may never have gotten exposed to. Lessons that helped build my character. And for that I will always be grateful to him.
I got my first follow up with the email I sent to that position selection process. I can't wait to hear what the rest have to say.
It's funny that my supervisor thinks that I will be leaving her group soon!! It's funny because I don't really think it's going to happen specially not till June!! Anyways for now I am enjoying my time with my current position as I keep on learning more.
